HISTORY

Food Processing

Southwark was the leading centre in Food processing in the 19th Century - it was indeed London's Larder. Made here were Peak Frean's Biscuits, Jacob's Cream Crackers, Sarsens Vinegar, Cross and Blackwell Soup, Hartley's Jam, Courage Beer and many other household names in mass produced foodstuffs.
