The Marshelsea Prison From Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens

 
 

Southwark had 5 Victorian prisons - the Marshelsea, Kings Bench, Horseferry Road being the most important. The major 'clients' were not criminals but were people who had fallen in to Debt.
